TERRIBLE!! No pride in their work, bad customer service, had tramission rebuilt, found errors in work, and still had to pay again to have them fixed. If I could give them negative stars, I would do that. We have had terrible experiences with them on multiple occassions. The event that prompted me to write this review involved our transmission. My husband noticed that the tramission on his 10 year old truck (Ford F150) was leaking fluid. He brought the truck into the shop, and explained that there was a leak. Now we fully undersatood that with a ten year old truck, there may be more work needed. So when the team at Murray brothers called a week later to say that the work was complete, we were expecting a pretty hefty bill seeing as it took a week to fix. My husband went to pick the truck up on October 18th. The charge was $2600 for a complete rebuild. Now besides the fact that no one called to give us updates or to relay quotes, we were ok this situation as we want to keep the truck for another 5 years or so and figured it needed the work. On October 28th, my husband decided to change the oil on the truck. He was shocked to find that the transmission fluid was empty and all over the place. So obviously the leak itself had never been repaired. We are guessing that the transmission had been rebuilt, seeing as it was old, but no one bothered to even look at the connections to clear the leak. We brought the truck back to the shop, and sure enough they confirmed that there was a leak. They did repair the leak, but charged us for the repair saying that the felt that is occurred after the completion of their work ten days prior (when my husband who works from home put less than 200 miles on the truck). We did find out that they do NOT do their own tramission work, they send the truck out. So we are guesing that no one communicated that the tramission needed a rebuild and that there were leaks. So just the rebuild was completed. In addition to that, they returned the car with no power steering fluid in it, which just seems like something a good shop would notice. This was not out first issue with the shop, but the benefit of the doubt is now gone. We are looking for a new shop and would NOT recommend this shop to anyone. They overcharge, have terrible response and customer service, do not do all of the work themselves, and will not take responsibility for work done incorrectly.
I recently relocated from NY to CT and needed an emission test on my car. I did a search online and found Murray Brothers Garage listed. I called and spoke with a very pleasant fellow named Bill who said just bring my car in the next morning which was a Saturday. Wow I love looking around in that garage with all the old photos and car "stuff". Quick service with a smile! I plan on having any future car work done there! I highly recommend them!
